Migrating over 500 companies from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance — international ERP implementation

The RETCON team completed a comprehensive project involving the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and the migration of more than 500 companies from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. The project was part of the international ERP transformation program in the group providing consulting, legal and outsourcing services.

The goal of implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance was to create a modern and coherent financial platform that allows servicing several hundred entities in a single system environment. At the same time, the project assumed the unification of financial, controlling and reporting processes in an organization operating in many markets.

The new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance ERP system has become the central financial management platform across the group, supporting the management of multiple companies, different tax jurisdictions, and complex organizational structures.

Project Scale

The project had both a national and international dimension. It included the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance for client operating companies and the migration of more than 500 entities from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.

The migration of Dynamics AX to Dynamics 365 Finance was carried out as part of a global ERP system unification program across the capital group. The aim of the program was to replace the older Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform with a modern ERP system in the cloud model.

This process included complex project accounting models, multi-level cost structures, and extensive controlling reporting mechanisms. An additional challenge was the changing business requirements during the project and the need to maintain full compliance with the existing operational processes of the organization.
